How you remember the 70's.

Posted almost 6 years ago
I first came across Boards of Canada when I was bored around Canada Day and typed in "Canada" into Napster or some other P2P app. Since then, I've bought virtually every album they still have in release.I've tried to describe BoC to others but Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) or Ambiant just doesn't seem right. The best description that's come to me so far is: It's how you remember the 70's feeling. It doesn't really matter what it was actually like, this is how you remember it, for those of you who can. ;-)I'm continually blown away by BoC. It is the perfect music for late summer nights when you just want to chill in the dark.

  4. LadyC says Happy belated Canada day! Funny how their Scottish yet have the most obscure Canadian referenced titles for their songs. I love it!

  5. eshep says boards of canada. i love your 70s reference, because for me they always sound like the movies that we were forced to watch in science class back in the seventies. in the dark, those misbehaving projectors creating a warped vibrato out of the scores and narrators while tadpoles jumped or volcanoes erupted. and the next thing you know, you've a spitwad in your ear. i read somewhere that boards of canada got their name from something to do with educational films (i can't recall exactly, but i'm sure you could read it somewhre on some thing called the interweb). i thought that anecdote was perfect, anyway.
