I had no idea this was a Cat Stevens song. The Rod Stewart is the one I'm most familiar withn Duffy dude has one of those voices it could take some time getting used to. Nice post.

C'mon. Duffy's the new P. P. Arnold - and I salute her! Great match of cover and (hot, new) vocalist.

What happened to the old P. P. Arnold whose also news to me? Anyhow, Dark Horse and I don't fancy female singers much.

Damn - you hear the Rod Stewart version and get reminded what an amazing singer he used to be. Even in - from this video - what appears to be his early LA-and-vitamin B12-shots-every-30-minutes period. And that intro....what song is that meant to be part of??? Not this one.

I'm not convinced by Duffy. Too early for the hype, too much like Amy...let's see where she develops to. If she's allowed. (And that solo would be a million times better if played by Andy Fairweather-Low. Check him on YouTube for a recent Jools Holland appearance - the guys funk picking is phenomenal.)

Cat - top name, top man, top songwriter! Interesting voice Duffy's got, lovely. Think they need some more instruments in that line-up mind you, it's a bit sparse, Jools........
