Death Don't Have No Mercy was written and performed originally in the early 1960's by the Reverend Gary Davis, also known as Blind Gary Davis. He was an African American blues and gospel singer and guitarist. He has been covered by the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Wizz Jones and Jorma Kaukonen to Keb Mo, Ollabelle and Resurrection Band.Jorma Kaukonen w/ David BrombergGrateful Dead (Was at this show and one of my fave performances)

  1. Sturgell says Why don't you ever really see jam bands like this anymore? Sure, they're around, but they don't sell out the big concert halls like they did back in x the early 90''s

  2. runobodyii says Nice. But why no link to the original? Sturgell, it seems like jam bands have fallen out of favor, that people tend to look down on bands like Phish or Rusted Root or even the Dave Matthews Band. Don't know why. I dig two of the three I've named.
