"Gary Lightbody":GL, frontman of Scottish Acoustic rock five piece Snow Patrol, will 'take over' an XFM station in July as part of the station’s residency series, according to Gigwise.The band/Lightbody follows in the footsteps of Damon Albarn, the Manic Street Preachers and the Kaiser Chiefs, who have all taken the helm of the Sunday evening show in recent months. "Gary Lightbody":GL, a fellow Mogger will be telling anecdotes and revealing who inspired the band musically.Gary: "This Sunday I begin a weekly residency on Xfm during the month of July. To be honest I feel like the first Russian cosmonaut. Nope, not Yuri Gagarin, I mean the wee dog, Laika. So many controls, buttons, levers and flashing lights and next to no idea what any of them do or indeed why I'm here."He added: "I'll bring along my favourite records of the last while and some new stuff I've just been given by folk at the bus stop and endeavour to steer this thing safely back to earth.
