The posthumous marketing of late Nirvana frontman and songwriter Kurt Cobain continues and Cobain, who was staunchly anti-corporate, must be rolling over in his grave over this deal that Courtney has done. Cobain's image has begun showing up on lunchboxes, an action figure and even a key chain that doubles as a small liquor flask, all manufactured by the National Entertainment Collectables Association (NECA). Cobain's image was licensed to NECA by his widow, singer Courtney Love, who also sold a 25% stake in her husband's song catalog last year for $50 million, Launch Radio Networks reports.
The value of the Nirvana catalog sale put Cobain ahead of Elvis Presley on Forbes magazine's 2006 list of the top-earning dead celebrities. The magazine also reported that the licensing of dead celebrities was nearly a quarter-billion dollar business last year."CLICK HERE TO SEE SOMETHING SILLY":CH"Launch":LR[CH]http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NC43231[LR]http://www.unitedstations.com/usrnweb/pages/content/launchradionetworks/details.asp
