West Ireland based folk-rock super group The Saw Doctors announces an 18 city United States Summer Tour, according to a spokesperson for the group.The group take thier name from the craftsmen who once traveled from sawmill to sawmill sharpening and repairing saws. The group is one of Ireland's biggest celebrated acts, holding the record for Ireland's biggest-selling single ever with their song "I Useta Lover." The Saw Doctors can claim the biggest selling single in Ireland, outselling Irish icons, U2, SineadO'Connor and Van Morrison.In Ireland and among Irish-Americans in the United States the band have a "fervent following."The Saw Doctors have release six studio albums. The first, in 1991, ??If This Is Rock and Roll, I Want My Old Job Back?? entered the Irish charts at number one. The album's front cover features the band members' fathers wearing black leather jackets and holding guitars. The album's back cover shows the Saw Doctors themselves in an identical pose. Their most recent, ??The Cure?? (Shamtown, 2006), was released on their own record label.
