WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

An early Old Lang Syne

Posted about 1 year ago
I was cruising through SongFacts, when I saw a Music News item that stopped me cold. Dan Fogelberg succumbed to Cancer at age 56. He's not a cool Indie sort, or a great musical pioneer, but I'll miss him. It's time to play old Dan's records, so I'll put on this dedication to his father in song. It's going to be hard to celebrate 2008 or sing Auld Lang Syne this year. (And yes, I'll try to get a red button for this song, one way or another, for the few who remember Dan Fogelberg.)

  1. dermahrk says I'm sure there will be more than a few. "Another Auld Lang Syne" is my favorite of his songs.

  2. DenRA says I think Dan Was indie in the true sense and not in a corporate sense...consider "Face the Fire" for example....and his originality and compositions I have never heard duplicated or before him had i heard anything like him since. "Late in the summer when when the cottonwoods die " "Gazing into a mountain stream,I saw the face of a child" Netherlands was his best album.....but "To the Morning" off his first album was extremely hauntingly beautiful! I will miss Dan the person ...but his music will live forever! Best Alohas,DenRA
