check out the energy on this early Husker Du cover of the Byrds song. Bob Mould adds a shredding guitar and visceral emotion

  2. brendanhalpin says I love this song. I'm not sure exactly what it means, punks and hippies-wise, but it rocks. The first time I saw Husker Du, at the late, lamented Jockey Club in Newport, KY, they played this song and many people in the audience wouldn't stop "slamming" (that's what we called it in those days), and they kept knocking the microphone into Bob Mould's teeth. So he changed the words from "Eight Miles High" to "This Crowd Sucks." Rock and roll!

Sometimes, when I come home from my very grown up job, and to my very grown up life, I listen to this song as loud as I can possibly tolerate it.  I can't possibly risk playing it more than once or twice a month or else I risk throwing everything away.
