I'd never given The Bends much thought (wait, didn't Radiohead start with OK Computer?), but a couple days ago I decided to put my foot in the water (see what I did there?) and so far, so good. I like this song for its beautiful simplicity. His live versions aren't as good because he gets all crazy and energetic. But here he keeps it foreboding and a little spooky."Slow, seething, piano-driven, album-ending song" hat trick now in play!

Greg's solo, all piano, 4 minute version of the final cut off Gray Race you already know and love. This version seems so appropriate for politics today. In it you will find no thrashing energy, no urgency - only a single, weary voice, overcome with the futility of illustrating that apathy begets evil.
