Hi, my name is Greg, I'm 35, I've lived In Rhode Island my whole life and always enjoyed living here. I've been with my wife Maya for about 13 years (married for 7). We have a son Sage and another son due March 1st. We have a 7 year old Boxer named Eve who is my sweetheart.
I worked printing weekly newspapers for 13 years until I was laid off in August. I'm a Jack of all trades type so I've been able to keep up with the bills doing odd jobs for people (painting, electrical, tile work etc.) I'm also an artist, mostly painting but I don't make any money from that because I can't get myself to part with my work.
I suck at writing and I always have. but I love music and even though my posts mostly consist of a song and a sentence I've always gotten a response from the great people here on MOG. And I've learned and discovered so much from them. Beyond music.
I like all kinds of music, my favorites are Hip Hop/Rap, Ska, Metal, & Reggae.
I love car audio, for the most part of my life my system was worth more than my car.
I have a lot of tattoos but I'm not "into" them meaning I don't care where you got yours, what it is, how much it cost. and no I wont show your wife the one on my ass in the grocery store.
I drink A LOT of beer, and smoke a little pot (good stuff only)
I love sports, when I was younger I played football, baseball, and wrestled. These days I play darts and hacky sack.
I don't like movies, TV, cell phones, or Guitar Hero.
I once drove a car, on the highway, during a blizzard, on LSD.

you're lucky you're a man of many skilled trades. i never got into painting but i took a few art classes and liked drawing. recently i did a second self-portrait but i wish i did it more or should take some classes.

Wow, I bet that was CRAZY! I remember driving my car on a road that cut throught the woods on night on 'shrooms and seeing lights flashing off in the trees. Wacky shit. I'm sure being in a blizzard with snow coming right at you is enough to melt certain parts of your brain.
How many tattoos is 'a lot'? I love tattoos, I have even designed a few for friends, but don't have any myself. I'm afraid that anything I get I'll end up hating a few years later, especially if I make it myself like I likely would.
You should post a photo of your painting work (if you haven't yet), I'm sure we would all be interested to see it.
i'm so glad you wrote this! you and i have very similar music tastes (hip hop, reggae and metal). i'm sorry to hear you don't print newspapers anymore. it's a shame that industry is in decline right now. i feel newspapers and investigative journalism are a huge part of democracy in this country. not interested in seeing either disappear.
