I saw an ad today for Lambchop's new CD called Damaged. I had not heard of Lambchop at the time, but I was outraged. "How dare a band named after a PBS sock puppet rip off Black Flag" I thought. Through a simple allmusic search, however, I saw that they were a quirky, unpredictable country jazz noise band, with a 13 year history and a concept album about Watergate under their belt. They've been very successful in Europe, but have failed in the US. I will be purchasing Damaged, as well as many other Lambchop albums, when I get back to the States. They kind of sound like this generation's Captain Beefheart, so naturally I'm there.
