WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Real Good Song

Posted about 1 year ago
CKY -> been in my flippin brain and playlist non-stop lately. So I had to share in a pitiful attempt to make up for the Viking Crown I posted earlier! It wasn't that bad was it?? yeah, I guess it was.I said a while back that the CKY song '96 quite bitter beings' had one of the coolest guitar licks ever...and it does, but a lot of CKY's guitar riffs sound similar, but they still rock hard. I think the secret to his sound is a pitch pedal or octave pedal. When I play their songs on guitar, you know what it is note for note, but it doesn't sound like Jess when he plays it! Guess that's why I love CKY, their sound is so unique and wicked cool!TD

  1. Bartleby says Notifications don't seem to be working at the moment - glad I caught this. Will you take a question from a non-musician, Joe? What do you think about people using pedals? -- Most the guitarists I admire seem to against pedals.

  3. TylerDurden says Michael -> coupla questions that always get me trapped -> Yes I favor using a guitar pick over finger picking, probably just the style of music I play, my guitar picks are all wore down from extreme contact with the strings, my finger tips would be bloody nubs! & #2 -> If I could afford a Marshall full stack that you see at concerts, I would use strictly the distortion in that. But, I'm a fat-starving-artist. So I use all kinds of pedals, depending on what I'm trying to acheive. I use chorus, flange, and different types of distortion. I don't think by using pedals it takes away from the music, plenty of artist's use them -> I guess it's just a personal bias type of thing, 'whatever torques your motor, whatever bakes your pie' -> FAITH -> it's been a minute, thanks for stoppin in!

  4. HelenMarie says Hey Joe... That was some good stuff! I've heard them but had no idea who they were. I just peaked around the net and saw the Drummer Jess is Bam Margera brother and they're featured on Jackass, Viva La Bam, I'm sure that's where I heard 'em...cool to know some details now...thanks!

  5. TylerDurden says SUNNY -> word, Bam also made CKY movies that have the band in there, I've probably said this before -> but the CKY videos are 10 times better than the Jackass movies. I'm an idiot, I always thought Jess was the guitarist, but I now realize my error, I saw him playing guitar once and it stuck with me that he was the guitarist -> like I said, I'm an idiot!

  6. HelenMarie says Idiot!? Awe...Don't be so hard on yourself...I just read about them the day you posted! For the record...I didn't put your comments about him being the guitarist together. So I wasn't trying to correct you...for I know not what I do. (sometimes) : ) I'll check the CKY vid's too. : )

  7. brittanybf says YES! CKY videos are way better!!! I heard the CKY song "96 Quite Bitter Beings" in one of the CKY's. That's my fave by them, hands down. :)

  8. TylerDurden says SUNNY -> I'm still an idiot, even if not for thinking Jess was the guitarist -> BBF -> girl, 96 quite bitter beings is what got me into CKY, it's one of the few songs I actually recorded on a cassette tape back-to-back-to-back just so I wouldn't have to keep rewinding it in my car whilst driving!
