I listen to my iPod on shuffle songs mode all the time. Sometimes Ill hear a song i want to earmark for later (to remember to add to a mix...talk to somebody about...etc.) by quickly adding it to my On-The-Go playlist default on the iPodThis scenario happens often when im driving my car to/from work and fumbling with an iPod while driving is even less safe than holding a cell phone to your ear...
