Have you seen the Stmashing Pumpkins setlists?

Posted over 2 years ago
I just took a look at the sets the Pumpkins were playing during their residency in North Carolina. Pretty amazing stuff. Multi-set shows and performing songs I thought we're bygones from the previous Pumpkins era - such as "Drown" and "Starla"

Anyone actually at any of these shows and file a report?

  1. The Janitor says Yo man. I'm pretty sure you don't need to feel left out with their shows on the East Coast. They're here for 8 shows at the Fillmore starting 7/22!!! I must admit I have fallen off the Smashing bandwagon after Mellon Collie, so all the newer stuff I am completely unfamiliar with. The main aspect that prevents me from getting fired up about the Pumpkins is that James and D'Arcy aren't back. I do love Jimmy Chamberlain and how he played in the earlier albums, but as Billy seemed to get more disenchanted, the music and the attitudes sort of wore on me a tad. I figure if you are going to call yourself "The Smashing Pumpkins" and make a big deal about reforming that you would actually "re-form". I don't consider 50% of the original bandmates a "reunion". But then again, I guess if AC/DC and Judas Priest can do it (and Lynyrd Skynrd and others) then so can Billy Corgan!

  2. Truth says Actually, on last count I think it was up to 12 Fillmore shows. And yeah, Im going to two of them. I hear you on the fact that James and D'Arcy aren't on this. And if their bay area show was at some big arena or stadium then you could have counted me out. But it's The Fillmore and I love that place. Still, my expections were on the low side until I started reviewing the set lists and the songs they were pulling out. Now I'm stoked.
