So, I went to check out the Foo Fighters show Friday night. Now, most of you know I'm a hip-hop head, but I like some of FF's stuff, so...hey, let's check 'em out.
So, driving to the show with my friend Jenn, I ask if she knows who's opening. She replies that it's some relatively new band, and another band that's supposed to be pretty big in England, but she had never heard of.
Far as I can tell, there are two attitudes towards opening acts. There's the "Wow, I can't wait to be introduced to some new music!" folk, which I'd guess most moggers are. Then, there's the, "Just do your damned set, so we can move on to who I came to see," folk. I fall into the latter group. You add to that the fact that I'm just an occasional rock fan...yeah, I would have skipped the opening acts if we didn't have general admission floor tickets.
Well, I woulda missed some good shit.
I won't get to praising and gushing, I'll just say they rocked the fucking house. Listen to the damned song. If this doesn't rock you then, as my man Maximus would say, "Fear not, for you are in Elysium, and you are already dead!"

The group features Daniel Davies (the son of Dave Davies from The Kinks) on vocals/guitar, Rich Mullins (bass player for past metal incarnations Karma to Burn and REO Speedealer) and Brad Hargreaves (the drummer for Third Eye Blind).
Aparently there's some Rock n' Roll royalty in this band (or at leat the spawn of Rock n' roll royalty). If you like this stuff, you need to check out Kyuss, Nebula, Fu Manchu and various other stoner metal bands. I love stuff like this. Thanks
i'm pumped you dug it. these guys use to be on capitol, i think. the label did shit for them in the US so that's why they're virtually unheard of here.
