Sample Clearance: The Return!

Posted about 4 years ago
That's right, Sample Clearance is back, bitches. Inspired by a post from milkshake, this has got to be the easiest sample clearance yet. For those of you new to the game, I post the song, you tell me the artist and name of the song it sampled. Post an mp3 or youtube video for extra credit. But, this time around, it's a bit different. I don't want artist and title. For full credit this time around, you have to tell me...1) Where the sample came from2) One interesting fact about the source of the sample3) and post a video of the source. :)5 points each.Get busy! And msquared64 cleans house for all the Pac-Man points, plus 10 more for Colors and Ice-T, for a grand total of......wait, gotta find my calculator.

  1. msquared64 says 1) The sample came from Pac-Man from Atari 2) One interesting fact? Makin' it rain would not be so chic without Pac-Man. 3)

  2. TroyPowers says Sorry. The correct answer, was Ms. Pac Man Jr. :) Damnit, solved in record time. :( I'm gonna have to think of something really off the wall to make up for this one. Funny video, by the way. For extra, EXTRA credit: In what movie did Sean Penn play a character that was repeatedly referred to as "Pac-Man", and who made the theme song? 10 points.

  3. msquared64 says I haven't seen it in forever... but I THINK it was Colors. And that would be Ice-T, who I think did every theme song back when that movie was made.

  4. Dzendvokh says You haven't seen colors? Oh man, you're really missin out. All time classic. Nice one here Troy. msquared didn't allow for much competition though ;-)

  5. msquared64 says I've seen it, but I think I must have saw it on HBO when I was about 10, and that's the reason the Pac-man thing seems familiar, because that was the hot shit back then. But I have the Ice-T song on my iPod, I will admit I didn't know it was from that movie until just now.

  6. TroyPowers says Yeah, msquared64 is on top of it! And Colors (both the song and the movie) are classics. "My game ain't knowledge, my game is FEAR!" Man, that song has so many classic lines that are dead on. Easily one of Ice-T's best songs.

  7. mickimicki says Hey, Ice-T _was_ young at some point... I'd all forgotten about that "interesting fact" :P

  8. TroyPowers says Hey, hey, no dissin' the Ice man. That dude may be old, but he's still pimpin'. I PRAY that I age as gracefully, and pimp-tacular as Ice-T has! Did anyone else see the Comedy Central roast of Flavor Flav, where Snoop says he wanted to listed to Ice-T on his way to the studio, but his limo didn't have a tape deck?

  9. mickimicki says LOL! That's funny, before mp3, I had IceT only on tapes, too... even a store-bought one... Bodycount... and btw I'm not dissing. Except you think calling him old is dissing. But then you can just dis me too... I'm so old that it was a LONG time ago that I saw a young Ice-T (his pic I mean).

  12. Dzendvokh says It's funny, I didn't even watch the video until now...but I used to skateboard and I remember drawing the "Iceberg" logo on top of my board
