Like most of you, the Beatles are, in my personal opinion, the Alpha and the Omega musically. So when I heard that there was going to be a Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas composed entirely with and about the music and life of the original fab four, I had to make the trip to see it for myself.
I am relieved/pleased/surprised to say that I couldn't be happier with the results. The production transcends your classic musical theater format, constituting a truly meaningful hour and a half which encompasses both the spirit of the Beatles and the depth and power of the human experience.
The music is breathtaking, and the visuals astound the senses. In the end, you can't quite say why but you know that they've hit the nail on the head. The show says something about each generation fortunate enough to have experienced the Beatles ideal. Perhaps more notably, it speaks to the importance of this music as the beating heart behind the breastplate of cultural and sociological progress.
I don't want to spoil any of the details for anyone. Just see it. It's well worth your money.
