That Sweet Sultry Sound

Posted over 5 years ago
I just heard this song while I was driving tonight, and WOW.If you didn't know any better, you'd swear this was being played off a 50 year old 33! Norah just has that sweet sultry sound to whisk you away. Her success lately is a testament to the fact that not all has been lost in the musical world; taste still does matter.I'm not always in the mood to listen to Miss Jones, but when the time is right, the time is right. It just hits you in that just one spot in your stomach where you yearn to sip lemonade over the gentle hilly breeze on your countryside, wrap-around porch's bench swing.Even better than Calgon - Norah take me away..."My heart is drenched in wineBut you'll be on my mindForever"--Torch

  1. chucky says Definitely. Norah Jones is a favorite of mine as it starts to get cold outside. Her voice really fits the season. Plus - I can sing along with my windows rolled up.:)

  2. dbboucher says Norah Jones is good. If you like her, you might want to check out Holly Cole. No relation to Nat King or Natalie. Lesser known, but very talented.

  3. Lester Jonze says I like Norah Jones lots. Both her albums put me in the mood for some serious chillin.

  4. Takeshi Kovacs says I really dig the song - nightengale from her first one. That tune is complex, but Norah makes it seem so simple.

  5. grazer says Norah Jones is great - is there something in the family? Her father is Ravi Shankar. Anyhoo, Jesse Harris wrote a lot of the material on her first album and won the grammy for songwriting or something like that. I suggest you check out some Jesse Harris and The Ferdinandos material. I don't think he is quite the performer that Norah Jones is, and I think freely says that his version of Don't Know Why isn't as good as hers. Anyway, just listen to his songs and imagine Norah Jones performing them.
