SR-71's debut album Now You See Inside may be my favorite album that I've never known anyone else to have. The song you've heard is Track 2 - "Right Now" -
Why? Why you always kick me when I'm high? Knock me down 'til we see eye-to-eye Figured me out and Well she may not be Miss Right, But she'll do right now!
I can be honest - some of the music isn't that original. Musically they are your typical turn of the century alternative rock band. HOWEVER, their lyrics are what really bring this album back to rotation over and over again. Whether they are dealing with current pop culture ("Politically Correct", "Fame"), the reality of reality ("What a Mess", "Alive"), or the girl that got away ("Go Away", "Another Night Alone") - your mental canvas is masterfully designed with such imagery that you'd swear every song was written about your life.
From the upbeat and angstful to the subtle melodrama, Now You See Inside plays from one end of your mind to the other - and - you love the trip.
Plus - how many other bands can work Mel Brooks, Princess Leia, and Paul McCartney all into the same LP?!?
These guys do have range, so even if you were put off by their radio single, I'd still recommend giving the whole album a spin. There are times I can't get enough of it!

Okay, I've gotta ask how they do that.

AWESOME start to the series. It's going to be a challenge to keep this up. I've never heard of this band it's off to iTunes I go. Then again, you've probably played this one for me before!

I actually do have that album, but I never really listened too deep. They always struck me as too derivitive.

I’ll give you that the music is nothing special, but I love the lyrics. There are plays on plays on words [sic] that give the thinking enthusiast a subtle high. Plus some of the songs (“Politically Correct”, “Fame”) are just plain fun to sing!

Each is in a different song. Track 1 - "Politically Correct" mentions how "...you couldn't make a Mel Brooks movie today..." Track 8 - "Fame" alludes to our favorite girl in hair buns "...they call her princess cause they always knew she'd be a servant... who've thought that she'd become a Jedi knight..." Track 11 is titled "Paul McCartney"
I highly recommend them all.
