I'm Glad They Started Moving

Posted over 2 years ago
I remember the first time I heard Finger 11's first hit One Thing back in 2003. The song was enticing and built quite heavily during portions of the song. Yet despite the tension, there was no release.
I was a little perturbed by this, because you could sense there was a pumping rock band hiding behind that song, waiting to punch its way out and slap me in the face. However I couldn't trust that feeling enough to throw down some of my hard earned money to buy their album. On the basis of one song, maybe. But on the feeling of pontential sensed behind one song, it was too risky.
Flash forward to this summer and the song Paralyzer, the rock track with a tantalizing, dynamic beat that you just can't get out of your head. I had heard it many times, but hadn't caught who the artist was. When I finally discovered it was Finger 11, things got a little warm inside. They did, in fact, have that all-out rock potential I sensed a few years ago.
So as to not be a tease, here is the video for Paralyzer, an interesting blend of a dark rave dance floor and an Austin Powers cut scene:
I think they've made me move right through me on my way to the checkout counter, with Them Vs You Vs Me in hand.

  1. darmuzz says If you never did pick up that first Finger 11 album, it's rock solid. You can visit my page at M to hear it. I don't have the second album - I heard it said that the Paralyzer single was a one-off and that the album is loaded with ballads. Hope that rumour is wrong.

  2. FingerFanF11 says Dead wrong. I am one of the few finger eleven fans from the U.S. since the beginning. They are formally known as The Rainbow Butt Monkey's (yea i know its bad) but they had a great sound then. Very upbeat and harder than what most expect. The first Aalbum as Finger Eleven was TIP. Very hard album with alot of emotion pouring out. Next was Greyest of Blue Skies.. Almost definitely my favorite. Very aggressive when it needs to be ( suffocate and drag you down) and very soft and dramatic when it has to be ( for the ocean and stay and drown). But still, a very complicated and emotional CD. The self titled album was the one most are familiar with. And i love that one also. Every album is different and great in its own way. Different sound. style, and emotion. I would suggest anyone who liked the last 2 to pick up the first 2. TIP, Greyest of Blue Skies, FingerEleven, Them vs You vs Me in the order. And if your looking for something different..... try RAinbow butt monkey's - letters from chutney. its old but good and completely different. hope this helps.
