I just got in from a gnarly 10 hour flying journey from the capital City, Albany, NY to Austin. As you know, we reached a code red this morning on the alert for terrorist activity. The weather also was UN cooperative. Fastball opened up for none other than Lou Grammatico, legendary vocalist of dominant Rock band Foreigner. We played a strong set, I think, of 70 minutes and despite a bumblebee sting on my left FU finger the day went off without a hitch! After my job was done I got to relax an enjoy at least 15 songs in a row that I knew all the words to! We actually had to leave before the show was over. Lou did a killer job despite recent health problems and seemed to really dig the scene! I ran into him in the hotel lobby this morning and said hello and he was very nice. Below is a photo from behind the stage. The photo of us is from last Sunday at Waterloo Park in Austin. This was our first gig with new bass player Harmoni Kelly. I know, I look like a school teacher! It was taken by a little girl named Wendy. I chose it because she's a great fan and it's got all of us in the frame. Next week it's Smahmouth and 2 state fairs. MO an KY! See you there! ha, yeah right!! Jaded moggers!
