MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Here's a photo from a show we did in Spain exactly 1 year ago. Since then we have changed bass players from this guy, Jeff Groves, to our new bassist, Harmoni Kelley. This was a mod festival in Leon that featured two of my all time favorite bands, the Zombies and The Undertones! The Spanish idea of what 'mod' is eludes me but it sure was a blast! Thought I'd post this photo I don't know the photographer but thanks to him for such a purple photo of Fastball at Purple Weekend 2005!

Awesome! I just had an alcohol fueled conversation last night about how much I love the Zombies...'A Rose For Emily' is one of my all time favorite songs! Sounds like a great experience!

The Undertones back together? With Feargal Sharkey singing? (switches to granddad voice) I saw them open for the Clash in the late Seventies, and they were easily the best opening band I've ever seen. A seriously, seriously underappreciated band.

Tony..... it's really cool that you guys got to play at a show featuring bands you dig, but also that there would be a show that would feature bands from so many different periods of music... btw did you know that there is an episode of the podcast Lyrics Undercover about the song The Way?

The Zombies are phenomenal. I've spent the last 40 years listening to them and am thrilled that Rod and Colin are together again.

Fan of Fastball as well. I'm so jealous!

OK first: it was the Undertones with a very capable non-Feargal lead vocalist. Second: Zombies included both Colin and Rod. I was stoked to know that they were watching from the wings, yet I was too shy to say hi! Doh!!! We played "'til The End Of The Day" by the Kinks for our encore. Oh by the way, not to brag, but there were about 3000 people there in Leon that night! In the states we play club gigs to about 250 per night unless it's some fair or college gig. It's kind of hard for me to wrap my head around that concept.

or

"The Fastball Sell Out"

Either way I am thinking live album!
