WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Obama Lama Ding Dong

First of all, my apologies for the stupid title. Yesterday was very interesting indeed as gigs go. As I said yesterday, we would be playing a set before the Austin appearance of Barak Obama at the Backyard. Well that's just what we did! No, that's not our high powered manager on the stage with us. That's a secret service agent, I think his name is Darrell. He was very nice and did not smile. I like that. The crowd was very, very calm. Good for security, not so good for a rock band. There were at least 3 people I saw that stood right in front of the stage, no doubt to gain ground for viewing ??The Senator?? as he is called by supporters, straight faced with fingers in both ears. He looked like a cartoon character waiting for the imminent explosion! We got to hang with Barak a bit at our cabin in the Texas Hill country. It's kind of like our clubhouse, we play poker and drink tequila, stuff like that... Jenga..l-r , my girl Jenn, Harmony, Scalzo, Suze, Barak, Joey, Miles

  2. ShellyinTexas says Fastball sounded great. You really did a first-class set. That crowd was just so darn young - it was nearly all students, with a few of their parents for support. Think about where those kids were in 1998. They did recognize "The Way" but mostly they seemed brain dead. Anyway, you guys performed like the pros that you are. It's cool that you got to hang out with Obama. His speech was great and made him seem squeaky clean. Wouldn't it be great if he could accomplish the changes that he listed?

This is truly an amazing time in history. Obama seemed like such a long shot - a hopeless romantic - at this time last year, but now he's proven that we can change when we work together.

So now that he's won, I really hope you get a call from his people inviting Fastball to play at his inagural ball. How cool would that be?
