WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Leigh Nash : Blue On Blue

Posted over 3 years ago
I received a pre-release of Leigh Nash's solo project about a month ago. I popped it in for a quick listen and then moved on... I forgot about it. ooops. So now I Just want to throw out some quick thoughts about the album. The album is due out Aug 15th, I believe. This album is relaxing, which is probably why it didn't get a lot of attention from me right off the bat. Not a bad thing, just kinda fell in with everything else. The album is very personal and pretty. Pretty? Sorry, in my mind the only adjective I have right now for this album is pretty. Lame, I know. If you dive into this album and listen from beginning to end I think you'll see exactly what I mean. The music is a perfect field for Nash's vocals to flow through. And flow she does. My biggest complaint is lack of "change"... the flow is the same all the way through. Vocally she doesn't step out of any box she's already been in, but then again, this is who she is. I do like the album, but in the way of putting in on in the background while I work. I don't have to pay attention to it, and it doesn't have to pay attention to me.Sixpence fans will enjoy the album, the songwriting and vocal styles are still there. Some of these songs will no doubt show up on TV or in movies.. probably the lovey dovey movies for sure.Track Listing:1. Along The Wall2. Nervous In The Light of Dawn3. My Idea of Heaven4. Ocean Size Love5. Never Finish6. Between The Lines7. More of It8. Angel Tonight9. Blue10.Cloud Nine11.Just A LittleAll in all I appreciate the album and Nash as a writer and vocalists, no doubt Sixpence fans will be all over this album.
