The Last Shadow Puppets Release Their Debut Single
Regardless of the hype, I've loved the Arctic Monkeys since I first heard about them three years ago while studying abroad in the UK. I'm not one to turn on music I genuinly like, simply because it becomes successful...or rather mega successful in this case. Check out lead singer Alex Turner's side project: The Last Shadow Puppets

[The Last Shadow Puppets are Alex Turner (from Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (from The Rascals). Firm friends ever since Arctic Monkeys toured with Kane's previous group, The Little Flames, the pair were so inspired by listening to the likes of Scott Walker, early Bowie and David Axelrod, that they hatched a plan. The result is 'The Age Of The Understatement'.
The Last Shadow Puppets debut single entitled 'The Age Of The Understatement' will be released on Monday 14th April 2008. The album, of the same name, will follow a week later on Monday 21st April.
The single features exclusive b-sides, including the band's 'Two Hearts In Two Weeks' and interpretations of David Bowie's 'In The Heat Of The Morning' and Billy Fury's 'Wondrous Place'."] Source: ArcticMonkeys.com

"One of the best guitar albums in ages; one of the best discs this year" -- BILLBOARD
If you haven't heard them yet, get ready to be blown away. I randomly ran across Rodrigo Y Gabriela on Billboard.com one day and was left stunned by their musical talent. I only wish they were stopping in Nashville on their current US tour. I may go back home for a week to catch them at the Langerado Music Festival in Sunrise, FL on March 11 or after the NARM convention in Chicago on May 4 if I can. I'm crossing my fingers. Check 'em out and hit me back if you dig.

i just can't even believe how fast they're playing on that letterman clip. i hope their hands are insured for millions.
Another album played on loop at work - but this one I actually liked! Their cover of Stairway To Heaven is awesome
Jess Horrible has been raving about them, I think she even got to see them recently. Not that they'll ever come to my area of NY, but if they do, I'm there.
