Talkin' 'Bout Boys And Girls In America

Posted over 3 years ago
I’m probably Craig’s biggest fan. Boys And Girls In America is the most personal record, lyrically, I’ve heard him write. Our new album. In the past, we have a really shitty PA, we’d rehearse and rehearse and rehearse and we could never hear what he was singing. But then when we would hear the lyrics for the first time, it was like, “Oh my god, that is fucking brilliant!” With Boys and Girls In America, there’s a theme, it was inspired by Kerouac’s On The Road, one boy and one girl, love relationships, which is not new to writing, not new to rock ‘n’ roll but there are specific universal themes that everyone can relate to – everyone has experienced these things. He’s such a great storyteller, narrator, lyricist. It makes my job easy. Not to sound like a kiss-ass, but I’m lucky I get to work with such a talented frontman.
