So I came across the band "Loney, Dear" while listening to the local independent college radio (91.7 WMSE). I literally ran home and bought the album from itunes. I haven't stopped listening to it for the past 4 or 5 days. It's absolutely brilliant. The sweeping melodies, the instrumentation, the mix of live and electronic drum beats... It's a mix between Page France, the beautiful composition of Sufjan Stevens, and the irresistble pop sensibility of the Postal Service. Maybe I'm way off, but regardless, this is good music. By all means check this band out. They are actually coming through Milwaukee opening for Of Montreal.

By the by... Sam Beam was outstanding. He was literally whispering into the microphone while the entire audience was mesmerized. You could have heard a pin drop... or the asshole two rows back talking on his cell phone. The 1900's opened up for him. They were good. I had never heard any of their music before that night. It was good. Very Partridge family-esque.

So goodnight my darlings. Until next time.

Christopher.

Just got my tickets to see Sam Beam live at the historic Pabst theater in Milwaukee. Very exciting. My wife and I are big fans. It's been months since I've actually gotten out to see live music. And for those of you not familiar with the Pabst theater - here's a link. http://www.pabsttheater.org/pabst-about.html Fun history and beautiful architecture.

It's been so cold here the last few weeks. Staying indoors has worn thin. I did however just buy a little Tascam digital 8 track recorder. My friend is loaning me his drum machine and I found an old AKAI reel to reel recorder at work. I think I'll track alot of stuff on the reel to reel tape and then transfer to digital and layer on whatever else. I'm excited.

I don't know who actually reads this, but apparently I have garnered the title of "smoking" on my mog-o-meter. I'm honored.

So keep on keepin' on,

christopher.

I got my very first iPod for christmas. I'm so happy. Who knew a material thing could evoke such feelings. Such a flaw in modern society...

who cares - I finally got a freakin' iPod
