    Rodney Crowell continues his romp from The Houston Kid with The Outsider, a great collection of well written tunes that both rock and sooth. Out of the Nashville machine for quite awhile now...Rodney's creativity has broken out even more. Dancin Circles Round the Sun just flat out rocks. Check out the fender strat rhythm guitar work. Hot.

    What a groove this CD is. Reminds me of Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson a little. It just has a lot of soul...old school soul if you will. The production is a little overcooked, it says it was done in an analog studio...hmm. Has a very sterile digital sound to it, but hell....still has big time groove.
