Clarification for Deadmandeadman ( my bad )

Posted about 5 years ago
Sorry Deadman but you`re dead wrong ( i thought it was funny, sorry ), I understand the exact type you are talking about but I happen to be the exact opposite. My problem is probably caring a little too much and I`m frustrated about not being able to do more than I am. Call it my own little messiah complex if you will. You say that you were in the military at one point so you should be familiar with the ever popular term, " stay in your lane". Well I happen to be doing just that but making sure that my "lane" is as squared as it can possibly be. You know very well the mils way of mis allocating it`s resources also i.e. sitting here doing nothing ( literally ). You say that you know folks who believe in what they are doing but I can stand up and ask everyone in this room right now that question and they would all give that same empty look they always give when asked a stupid question. ( not trying to be an asshole about this ). As for street cred... yes this is my second enlistment, yes this is my third tour in the raq, yes I`m proud to be a soldier but that`s it, I didn`t know I was signing up to become some sort of politician amongst my peers. So I would like to apologize to you personally Deadman if I rubbed you the wrong way a little, I`ll definatetly take your advice and take my ass home though. ( We do have ours!!!) Peace-n-Respect!

  1. deadmandeadman says I apologize to you my friend. I read your post in the bleery eyed AM before i left for work. I misunderstood your post. I accept that you're frustrated, and more than likely disgusted with the way the action in the desert has been prosecuted. I am too. It has become a very real question as to whether or not western civilization can DO what's needed to win a war. But the Military in general has my endless respect! and you? You have earned the right to speak your mind and heart, and I salute your service.

  2. Wozniak says We all have a right to speak our minds and hearts - that's what's in the Constitution. I can dissent against the war because people fought in other wars to preserve that right for me. I don't have to enlist in the military to have that right, and, in fact, it's against my personal moral code to do so, so I haven't. I wish I had some nugget of advice for you, TheEyeOpener. I guess I just this - stay safe, okay?
