A boon for both Neil Young obsessives and fair-weather fans, Neil Young's forthcoming release of Dreamin' Man Live '92 offers an inimitably intimate re-imagining of late-era classic Harvest Moon. Culled from several solo performances given in the early '90s, these acoustic renditions scale down Harvest Moon's already minimalist tunes, attacking the set with even more heart-wrenching emotion.
If the effect of the original was to create the ambiance of a singer/songwriter baring it all in a small backroom bar, Dreamin' is a living-room lament for an audience of one.
We dug the album so much (one of our staffers actually teared up), that we had to get it to you before it came out on Tuesday. Enjoy our exclusive pre-release stream below!
