This Wednesday night you will find me at the Royal Albert Hall in London, swaying to the sweet sounds of Smokey Robinson. I'm guessing that I'll have such a good time that I'll be back at the same venue 24 hours later to see Al Green, with his special guest Candi Staton.
Here's Al with one of his classics, from the BBC's Later With Jools Holland show a few years back.

My Trusted MOGs
Is there an emoticon that denotes barely suppressed sobbing? If so, can someone please send it to me? I have just come across a situation that requires its use.

Almost started sobbing myself shortly after posting this, as I learned that there's been a mix-up with my Al tickets at his press agent's office and they've nothing to give me for the Royal Albert Hall.
Happily, though, they're gonna sort me out for the last date of his UK tour, at the Hammersmith Apollo next week - the night before I head off to see Elvis Costello & Allen Toussaint at the Tower Of London. So that's good.
