MOG Exclusive! Legendary Bowie And Bolan Producer To Work With The Zutons

Posted over 2 years ago
*Tony Visconti*, the man behind the classic early 70s recordings by T.Rex and David Bowie, will be producing the next album from Liverpool's much-admired *Zutons*.Visconti, who also helmed last year's Morrissey album, Ringleader Of The Tormentors, arguably his best solo record yet, was won over by the group's 2006 release Tired Of Hanging Around, and in particular its global hit single Valerie. "To me, they incorporate the best of what it takes to be a live band," Visconti told me during an interview earlier this week. "Their lyrics are eye-opening, there's a a lot of social commentary going on there, and I think they manage to get valid messages across while still having a lot of fun. "I must admit that I've not been in the audience for one of their shows, but I was taken by what I've seen on TV, and after watching them go through a set in their Liverpool rehearsal studios, they come across as everything I thought they would be. I'm really looking forward to working with them."
