WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Robert Plant Sings Elvis Presley, With Dave Edmunds And Nick Lowe

Posted about 1 year ago
Forget about the reconvened Zep, or even that marvellous album with Alison Krauss, here's Percy rocking out back in 1979 - bottom of the bill at a Hammersmith Odeon benefit show for Kampuchea (headliners were Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello).Yes, friends, these were the days when Rockpile were the best live band in Blighty, and hoary old dinosaurs were desperate to get in on the action. I especially like the tail-end of the clip, where Mr Lowe is not aware that the song has finished and decides to carry on by himself...

  1. dermahrk says This appears to be Elvis' "Little Sister", not "If Sugar Was As Sweet As You". And this just reinforced how much I hate Plant's preening ego. At least he buttoned his fucking shirt.

  2. Terry Staunton says The tag has nothing to do with the video, my friend, just thought I'd point Moggers towards another top Rockpile chat.
