  1. Neill says Sometimes I think you don't like the Spice Girls Terry.....

  2. Dale says Let's not jump to conclusions here; it could be that Terry feels that their earlier singles are being sullied by these latter-day monstrosities. Thoughts?

  3. Joxley says Strangely I know two, yes TWO people who have (independently) seen Posh in a Tesco's. And this still isn't as bad as the 1980s commercial for a slimming product with the tagline: "If you want to get thin...then you need to get Aydes"

  6. Jonh Ingham says How did I know this would be the commercial on which you were heaping your ire? At least it has a quality control consistent with the single.

  7. Anna says Neill says: Sometimes I think you don’t like the Spice Girls Terry….. Terry, say it isn't so! ;)

  8. ivylander says The last shred of credibility they might have had from Elvis Costello's cameo in "Spice World" has now vanished....

  9. indiepixie says not only did I watch the whole thing, but I didn't think it sucked. I mean, it actually lives up to their personas as diva sell-out has-beens. Great job agents! In case we had banished the Spice Girls along with trends like jelly-flip-flops and over-sized brit soccer jerseys into infantile memories, we just remembered again why we never bought even their first CDs. No dignified mogger would have, right? Granted, Posh should never have to speak or pretty to act or pretend to read, or whatever the hell she was trying to do that first act (after the feline strut in)....but generally, most walmart commercials can be worst. What is Tescos? Like walmart right?

  10. Mike the Knife says What indiepixie said. And yes, I do believe this chain is the U.K. equivalent to Wal-Mart. (BTW, you may have noticed that Tesco is mentioned in the lyrics of Lily Allen's charming "LDN." But don't hold that against her...)

  12. dermahrk says I want Posh Spice! Is that so wrong?

  13. Terry Staunton says The Wal-Mart equivalent in the UK is actually Asda, Mike. They are the owners of Asda, and it caused a bit of a chuckle over here when, a couple of years ago, with Wal-Mart's ban on Ozzy Osbourne albums still in place, they paid his wife Sharon a cool £5 million to appear in a series of Asda TV ads!

  15. Sabina Ruus says Haha...this is bad. I can't believe I kinda liked it.
    Permalink posted 11/14/2007
  16. The Time Machine says

Actually...I enjoyed it and even laughed. The commercial doesn't appear to be taking itself too seriously and seems to want to go for humor. There have been advertisements far more worse than this could ever be. I wonder if there could be a follow-up spot just before Christmas with Oasis? That might be funny too.
