I added a new widget to let me list various J-Pop PV's that have caught my eye, both old and new. I was thinking it would be an interesting idea after watching the PV (Promotional Video is the term used in Japan for music videos) for "Around The World" and being struck by the similarity between that and Ayumi Hamasaki's "Alterna". Watch both and judge for yourself.I actually like both songs and videos. I have to highly recommend "Alterna" not only for the song itself, but for the video. Like several other Ayu PV's (Step You and Real Me), this one focuses a critical eye on the J-Pop idol machine. Though some may say that Ayu is definitely a part of it, I believe most Ayu fans will dispute this. Sadly, very few J-pop artists can break away from their early idol days. Which is a shame, because there are some very talented artists that appear one day and are gone the next.Luckily for us, Ayu is not one of them.
