MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

(51)

So I went to see a sweet ska show last night at Marquee in Tempe. I didn't know what to expect from Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish. I've been seeing all their shows since I was a kid but I didn't really like either of their new albums. Both bands put on great performances that were just as good as I remembered. They both played a lot of older songs and some newer songs that sounded a lot better than the recordings. Reel Big Fish did a cover of the Cure's "Boys Don't Cry" and Metallica's "Enter Sandman" as they claimed themselves as Masters of all music with several remixes of Suburban Rhythm to different music styles.

Masters..... Masters!!

Growing up I was really big into that kind of ska and I ran into a bunch of old friends (and made some new ones). Ska kids are a lot more fun than most types of fans. To my surprise, there were a lot more young ska fans. You better believe I was skankin' in the pits.

Anyways, I started this post to inform everyone that Streetlight Manifesto put on an incredible show. I love the band and if you like ska I'm sure you will love them too. Especially since many of the band members are from Catch 22. Check out their Everything Goes Numb or their re-make of Catch 22's popular Keasbey Nights album. You won't be disappointed.

Ska is not dead, you just have to look in the right places.
