MOG MOG

WHERE E=MC HAMMER

Bob Wayne is an average guy. Looking at Bob, you’d think the only involvement he would have with this fucked up thing called the “music biz” is being a roadie (which he ironically is for Hank Williams III). However, there’s a difference between Bob Wayne & the rest of us average folk: he is a seriously talented musician & songwriter.

The songs on Bob Wayne’s Blood to Dust album range from vintage country, to bluegrass, to hard blues. Bob assembled a diverse selection of musicians ranging anywhere from members of Hank III’s Damned Band to the guys from Zeke to form his group, The Outlaw Carnies. This eclectic mix of musical styles and cross genre artists keeps the album from sounding repetitive and mundane like other albums by other self-proclaimed traditional country/ Americana bands. There aint no song that deserves to be skipped on this album!

What is most captivating about Bob Wayne’s style is his brutally honest song writing. The fact is you can’t write shit like this unless you’ve lived through some fucked up experiences. Bob poignantly tears through stories about addiction, heartbreak, loss, eternal damnation, and salvation (not to mention a couple premier murder ballads). Most people try & pull these songs off & end up sound cliché and trite. With Bob, on the other hand, you believe what he’s saying.

I’ve only had the opportunity to see Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies in concert once. He was opening for Hank III and most of the people at the show, myself included, knew little to nothing about Bob. Nonetheless, his informal style and sincere stage presence drew the audience in & everyone was a fan by the end. But like I’ve said before, don’t take my word for it. Buy Blood to Dust from Bob’s website- www.bobwayneandtheoutlawcarnies.com. Also, when he & his Carnies come your way get the fuck out there and support!
