So it's been ages since I last MOGged...
I was lost in my dissertation proposal grind for awhile... and then before I knew it, the summer was here and I embarked upon my fieldwork excursion to Rwanda, where I lived for three months conducting research. There, my musical experience consisted of a lot of American mainstream (such as Nickleback, Beyonce, Rihanna, and Johnny Cash, of all things).
I returned in September in a whirlwind, trying to acclimate back to live on this side of the world. I also discovered a new love of house music... which is not something I would have ever suspected. Kigali has a very lively nightlife, and I spent many weekend nights dancing. Upon returning, I found the house scene to be the most welcoming scene in stark contradiction to the "pop" nightclubs I frequented in my younger days. As such, I've acquired a taste for djs such as Andy Caldwell and Kaskade... and even some local favorites from the small weekly dance club I attend. In particular, this song (the remix) is one of my favorites. I have it in constant rotation and find that it lifts my mood and inspires me to do more of whatever I'm doing (running, cleaning, writing, etc).
Anyway, fellow moggers, I am hoping to do my best to catch up on what I've been missing out on with your music.

My Trusted MOGs
Fieldwork in Rwanda, accompanied by some Johnny Cash, et al. That sounds amazing. It's cool that you got to discover the nightlife and house music scene. It's never been my thing, but maybe I just need to go to Rwanda....:)
