First off, I feel as though I have to vent about my irritation with my internet. Something about our internet access prevents MOG from working on my computer, which keeps me from writing as often as I'd like (and especially, from commenting on most of your very thoughtful posts.) MOG doesn't recognize my password, so to log in each time, I have to do the "forgot password" and wait for the email, then change the password, etc... EVERY TIME. I love MOG, but that whole process annoys me, and deters me from posting (which is why it might seem like I"m that jerk who doesn't comment. I totally read your posts, I just don't often have the time to wait for the email etc.)**update**** this has been fixed! Turns out all this time I wasn't confirmed for MOG, which isn't surprising since I had all kinds of issues trying to sign up in the first place. Thanks for your help Kate <3Moving on, I've been feeling very nostalgic of late. I think it's because a dear friend of mine from elementary school and I have been corresponding a lot. It made me miss that time in my life, before my father died (when I was 11). My father was an amazing person-- very musically oriented and a lover of all things good about music. If he had been alive, I am certain that I wouldn't have descended into the musical period of my life of which we do not speak (age 12-21). Yes, it was that bad. But previous to that, all I listened to with my dad was what has been lovingly (or not so much) termed "oldies." The Beatles, Roy Orbison, CCR... all the good stuff. And, my dad had it on vinyl. And you know that it was the original vinyl that he had been collecting since his teenage years (sadly, I do not know what has become of that vinyl). Anyway, my dad always used to tell me that I should have been born in the 60s, because we bonded over music. Though I can't say that I love everything from that time period, I can say that 60s (and early 70s) music has a special place in my heart and in my memories (even though I wasn't around quite yet). When I'm feeling especially nostalgic, it's all I want to listen to. I like to think that dad would approve of the way my music choices have progressed recently-- more towards the singer/songwriter/folksy vein. His all time favorite songs were "Stop, Children What's that Sound," "Cats in the Cradle," "Bye, Bye Miss American Pie," and anything by Roy Orbison and CCR. Classics, by any measure. What musical decade do you belong to? Why?
