Fancy a look inside the legendary Abbey Road Studios? From 12 Jan to 30 March 2007 you will be allowed to do just that from your living room via your gogglebox.
Inspired by the 75th Anniversary of the world famous Abbey Road studios, Live from Abbey Road is a 12x60 minute music TV series independently produced for a worldwide audience and showcases what the producers are dubbing the highest quality in global talent. I have to disagree with that statement for a good few of the confirmed acts, but hey, one man's trash is another man's treasure... and there are some performances I'm itching to see. Most notably The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Paul Simon, and Massive Attack.
Live from Abbey Road is said to be creatively ambitious, set to break new ground for music on television and aims to sound like an album and look like a movie. Each 60 minute show has three artists, there is no studio audience and no host, but features each musician speaking about their work, and showing behind the scenes footage of the musicians working on their performance and leading to the performance. Shot with 35mm lenses in the intimacy of the famous Studios 1 & 2 at Abbey Road, the recordings are designed to look like succinct music movies, giving a personal insight direct into the mystical world of music and its makers.
The show will broadcast on More 4 (freeview/Sky) late on Friday nights in the UK, and will be available to US audiences via the Sundance Channel a little later in the year. A further 15 broadcasters worldwide have also been confirmed.

This sounds similar to Sessions at West 54th, which was one of my favorite musical shows of all time. They had Billy Bragg on once, and the Ozomatli performance was electrifying.
