Sureshot vs Christopher Eccleston... The big stare out grudge match!

Posted over 2 years ago
PROOF - I AM KLOOTI'm not Kloot, but the band are. I'm not trying to prove anything other than the fact Eccleston is a hard man to stare at for 2 minutes 47 secs solid without cracking up. I was good at this challenge at school. I guess my powers have faded since.Read further down my page if you're not sure who 'I Am Kloot' are.

  1. Terry Staunton says Scary Chris Eccleston! Did you ever watch Our Friends In The North? Funny looking back on it now, 'cause basically it starred Dr Who - and his best mate was James Bond!

  2. chucky says That song was pretty sweet. I only got 1:15 in, because that guy staring at me was making me fidgety.

  4. Sureshot says Yeah I watched most of Our Friends In The North, but never made that connection until now. How do you think the actors would fare if they switched roles? A Manc Bond would kick ass! Chucky, you can take him! Don't let him win.

  5. smithco says Chucky, if you gave in at 1:15, you missed out on the big ending. It's one of the best endings to a music video that I know of.

  6. Kid Charming says BBC America's supposed to start running Eccleston's Doctor Who season next week. The Sci-Fi channel already ran it last year, but I've heard they cut it up a lot. What I wonder is how many times takes it took to get this down, because it can't be easy to just stare at a camera like that. I'd probably start laughing at around 1:05.

  7. chucky says smithco - the sad part is that I'm 99.7% certain you're messing with me but that other .03% has me wanting to try again just in case. Grr. kid - I caught a few episodes of the new Dr. Who earlier this year on Sci Fi but I couldn't get into it. Mainly I think because to me, there will only be one Dr. Who - the one with the big fro and long scarf. Just like, for me, Roger Moore is the only real James Bond.

  8. Terry Staunton says A Manc Bond! I love it! "Ey-oop, lass. Tha name's Bond, like. James Bond - smaaaaart!"

  9. smithco says No seriously, it really is worth watching until the end. And for the record, the definitive Doctor was the first. None since have topped Hartnell's crumudgeonliness.

  10. nicki says Hey, now, Chris wasn't exactly keeping still, either. Still, I really couldn't play. Busy sucking mashed potatoes off my teeth.

  11. Terry Staunton says The definitive Doctor seems to come down who had the gig at the individual viewer's most formative years. For me it was Jon Pertwee, but the last two since Russell T Davies revived the series have been triumphs. David Tennant should reign in the mugging, though.

  12. chucky says Ok, I looked him up - Tom Baker was my Dr. Who. I will not stand for any others. Terry's right, he ran from 76-81 when I was a kid which is when I would've been watching it. smithco - I am going to sit through that video against my better judgment...

  13. Kid Charming says Yep. I remember my local Public Television station running Tom Baker episodes when I was young. Of course, the story arcs took 4 or so half-hour episodes, and I never could seem to catch on at the beginning, so I never knew what the hell was going on. It didn't matter, though; I still loved 'em. And Baker will always be the first one to come to mind when I think of the Doctor, but I do like the new ones. And you're right on about Tennant, Terry. I also wish they could let him go through one episode without having to threaten to get badass on somebody.

  14. Sureshot says Roger Moore is the only real James Bond?? And that coming from a wee lassie with Scottish blood? Sean Connery would be ashamed to hear that ;) Connery all the way for Bond.J ohn Pertwee for the Doctor as comedic value was the only reason I watched the old show, and it always made me think of another of his famous roles.

  15. chucky says Bah. Connery was before my time. Roger Moore was Bond from before my birth until I was 10, so he's set in my brain. The Bonds after him didn't have a chance because they were too feminine for me. Girly men. Plus, Moore was Bond longer than Connery was Bond in both years and number of movies. So there. ;)

  16. Terry Staunton says To quote Alan Partridge, re Bond... "No one could wear a safari suit with the same level of casuality as Roger Moore." The very first Bond was on American TV, I'm led to believe, played by Gene Barry. Only they called him Jimmy Bond. The second, on British radio, was played by Bob Holness, later the bespectacled host of the sixth-form TV quiz Blockbuster. And can I just add that George Lazenby was actually pretty good? His one movie, more than any of the others, actually addressed the backstory of the character in Ian Fleming's original books. There, I've said. I shall go hide now.
