I'm a human being now but I used to be a pig

One of the things I look forward to the most each month is The Playlist CD that comes with my issue of Uncut Magazine. The Dears, The Young Knives, Mica P Hinson, Lambchop, PF Sloan, and Captain Beefheart all feature on Septembers disc but as always the track that interests me most is that from a band i've not heard of. On this occasion the band in question is 'Nazz', an early 60's psychedelic garage band i'm told . Musical discovery is a trully awesome pleasure, especially when the song starts with these lyrics...I'm a human being now but I used to be a pig/ 'til they shortened up my nose and they made me wear a wig.To me 'Nazz' conjure up memories of 'The Kinks' and 'The Small Faces'. They're self confessed anglophiles so I guess the likeness may not be a coincidence. Nonetheless 'Meridian Leeward' will keep me entertained until I can hunt down a full album. If you're a fan of the band or frontman 'Todd Rundgren' i'd like to know more.full lyrics here
