…Playlists!

Even if getting off your ass is “like trying to hide the daylight from the sun”...mogger’s can make it happen! (Get you off your ass that is…I’m not sure if moggers would be successful at the other yet…anything seems possible with you all though!)

Everyone was so kind to comment with thoughts of motivational, body moving music in a post I did a few weeks back when I asked for help. See the post and ideas here.

Since I’m the type of person who has trouble making decisions when presented with an abundance of options. Like at restaurants when everything on the menu sounds delicious, no matter what decision I make…8 out of 10 times I still end up with entrée envy after seeing what others ordered. So this became a little more nerve-racking than I originally thought. Eventually, I was able to let go of the pressure of picking and choosing the absolute best fit and decided there would just have to be more than one list. We’ll have a spin-class box set by the time I’m through with all the great suggestions. There are a couple selected songs the best bud kept for her list and routine that I decided to leave off. Those being Run DMC’s Tricky, Moby’s Move (You Make Me Feel So Good) and Fatboy Slim’s Weapon of Choice…she had a few ideas herself that worked well with those picks. She’s very appreciative and tells me to thank each and every one of you!

I figured not many people would actually be spinning to the list. Maybe you’d prefer to get pumped up with a standard workout, a jog or run (like myself), or maybe you just want to crank it up in your car and let your foot feel the enthusiasm on the gas peddle (Just don’t send the speeding ticket to me!).

And people...do me a favor if you are working out or exercising indoors somewhere, like a gym or more specifically a ladies gym. Please don’t over-load your senses with garbage, and advertisements trying to sell digitally enhanced beauty, when you’re trying to do your body good. I can’t tell you how many people I see with headphones, moving on the treadmill, stationary bike or Olyptical checking in on the 20 televisions ahead and at the same time flipping threw a damn Glamour magazine that’s resting over the section showing your vital signs! I’m no expert but I’m almost positive this is not going to help your over all health. Concentrate on your breathing (and the music)!!! Okay, enough with the outburst…thank you for your time.

Here’s the Moggers Choice Ass-Moving Music list.

505 Arctic ~ Monkeys Choo Choo ~ Arctic Monkeys Foundations ~ Kate Nash You Know Me Better ~ Róisín Murphy Strict Machine [Single Mix] ~ Goldfrapp A Cause Des Garçons ~ Yelle You Gonna Want Me ~ Tiga Bad Ass (Rouge Element Mix) ~ The Crystal Method Around The World / Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger ~ Daft Punk (Alive) the girls say ~ Groove Armada Valerie feat. Amy Winehouse ~ Mark Ronson Fire It Up ~ Modest Mouse Aqueous Transmission ~ Incubus

Special thanks to Dale, Dachmo, Wanbli, Tylerdurden, ROCKNROLLPIMP, RGM, Bartleby, summereyes (for your encouragement), FastRMacR, Mike the Knife, Augusts1, Flux, Lady Miss Ian, brendanhalpin and poebegone. And an extra special thanks to those of you who donated to the cause!

Working with Augusts' suggestion of Groove Armada...attached is "the girls say"...one of my personal favorites from the list.

Now go move your “tush”!

I say good on ya's for making a choice, the world relies on our right to discriminate and who care what anyone thinks, if it moves you then its good (for you at least)

Super list and write up, Sunny. That is a great tune, too. Me likey also: "entrée envy" Ha! A new neurosis? "I can’t tell you how many people I see with headphones, moving on the treadmill, stationary bike or Olyptical checking in on the 20 televisions ahead" - very true, when I'm in the gym I switch off the tv monitor and concentrate on the music (and not sliding off the treadmill).

Hey Augusts - Yeah yeah, I said "working with" your suggestion of Groove Armada. I honestly didn't have access to some of the other GA tracks you suggested, but I really thought this "groovy" track kicked a little more tush anyhow! I love the Goldfrapp too! Did you notice that one on the list? Thanks you!

Sturgell - Do you know of anything else moggers do better...please do share!!! ; )

Mike - I'm sure you've already got some massive pipes from those 12 oz. curls!

Hi earthman - Yes and our bodies rely on moving, our minds rely on music so it only makes sense that they go so good together. Thanks for the props! : )

Dale - What a great warm up track! But if one didn't know any better...my misplaced hyphen thingy could make you think I put something in by the classic Monkeys...ha!

FluxE - Thanks much for the super words! Entrée envy isn't a "new" neurosis necessarily, though I'm more in touch with my taste buds than ever before so lately I've been pretty content with my decisions (this is also true in other areas of my life!) And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that has to concentrate on "not sliding off the treadmill"! I've come close when the tele catches my eye too! So...good for you...you just go and turn them off, aye? I don't have as much authority (or balls-thank god) apparently. ; )

Superb motivational pump up list, Sunny. However do you mind if I keep checking in on the 20 televisions ahead and at the same time flipping threw a damn FHM magazine that’s resting over the section showing my vital signs if I'm not working out or exercising indoors but just checking out the ladies moving their tushes? ;)

Also, can I just enjoy the music even if I don't move my bonbon? (Thanks for the kind words but I'm not sure I recommended anything -- compliments are always welcome anyways :p)

@Marigold: Look how this bloke swing his ball -- that's the kind of sport for ya :p

Hey Bartleby - Aw shucks...thanks for the fabulous comment! Please enjoy the music even if you're not moving your bon bon, even while you're eating bon bon's! I don't care, just do what makes you happy! But the only way you can sit in the gym watching tv and tush is if you already look like this...

MariG - ; ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); ); )
