Am I the only one out there who thinks this stuff doesn't really sound that great? I mean... it's cool because it's different than most stuff out there, I guess. But I feel like she's the latest in this string of blog-babies that's getting love because there's something electro and kooky happening in the sound; but the music aint always that good. Not to mention that the stuff sounds REMARKABLY like everything ESG did back in 1978... from the aggro-non-singing-melody-screaming to the electro-disco-punk-hop that not only ESG, but Blondie, Liquid Liquid, Joy Division and everybody else who performed at CBGB's before 1984 already did. I'm not trying to diss... I mean, I reeeallly wanna like Santogold. I feel like there's something there and she's trying to push the envelope, which I appreciate. But what's the big deal? Anybody got any ideas?

My Trusted MOGs
but even if she's bringing back a sound, the people are digging it now. i personally am one of those people.

i'm with you Sum - i'm not into Santogold's sound. i love the music, but not her vocals. of course, the music was made by Diplo and Switch, who also produced the music on M.I.A.'s albums. I LOVE M.I.A., but still not into Santi.
