Beirut On Tour & Sophomore Album

Posted over 4 years ago
Zach Condon, the creative power behind the Santa Fe based folk outfit Beirut, will release his yet to be titled release this fall. The new album (some sources have said it will be titled ??The Flying Club Cup??, though yet to be confirmed) is Condon's sophomore album and will be released on October 9th via Ba Da Bing!, according to the artist's publicist. Beirut's debut, ??Gulag Orkestar?? is a combination of Balkan and pop melodies. The album, which was released two years ago by a then 19-year-old Zach Condon, was reportedly done almost completely in his bedroom. Condon on the sound of the new album: "I was listening to a lot of Jacques Brel and French chanson music-- pop songs shrouded in big, glorious, over-the-top arrangements and all this drama-- and that was in some sense unfamiliar territory to me. So I started buying new instruments and relying on things I wasn't necessarily comfortable with, like French horns and euphoniums, carrying these big, epic big brass parts that I used to do all on trumpets, and working with accordion and organ instead of all ukulele-- very much throwing myself in the world of classical pop music, I guess you could say".Also,Beirut will play a free London show in between his Glastonbury slot and gig at London KOKO.The special acoustic performance will take place on June 25 at 6pm."More Info Here":CHCurrently touring in Europe, US tour details were recently announced: September 23rd - Princeton, NJ - Terrace F Club September 24th - New York, NY - Worldess Music Series @ Society for Ethical Culture September 26th - New York, NY - Delacorte Theater September 30th - Montreal, QU - La Salla Rosa October 2nd - Toronto, ONT - Danforth Music Hall October 4th - Chicago, IL Portage Theater October 8th - San Francisco, CA - Herbst Theater October 9th - San Francisco, CA - Herbst Theater October 10th - Los Angeles, CA - Avalon New Album's Tracklist: 0.
