Almost 25 years after her death, neo-folk pioneer Judee Sill's estate has released a compilation disk titled ??Live In London (The BBC Recordings 1972-1973)??(Water).Judee is yet another example of an artist tragically taken in their prime, and being celebrated posthumously. She led a hard and fast life. It's been said she learned her signature gospel-inflected keyboard style during her jail time for writing bad checks. When she was young, her childhood was marked by the death of her father and brother in separate instances. Her step father was Tom and Jerry animator Kenneth Muse who is reported to have been abusive, leading her to run away towards a life drugs. The compilations features a more refined talent in Sill, found shortly before her death from a drug overdose in 1979.Her songs have been covered by artists as diverse as The Turtles and Will Oldham and her fans include Jim O’Rourke, Devendra Banhart, Graham Nash, Sleater-Kinney and more. For more info on Sill, "CLICK HERE":CH[CH]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judee_Sill
