Simulated Sex on 15yo Loses Akon Verizon

In a follow up to a story that was originally broke for us here at Mog by MrFrost("click here to see story":DF), Verizon has ended its partnership with hip-hop star Akon after a 'simulated rape' was performed on 15 year old female fan, during a performance according to Fox News.Verizon's statement:"This week the partnership ended. We have music services on our cell phone service and we were promoting him as one of the artists. The other part of the sponsorship was the Gwen Stefani tour, of which he was an opening act. We are no longer sponsoring the tour."The fallout came after video of the scandal was posted online("click here to see it":CH).     iseemonsters says Good grief. That video is horrible. That girl was a fan and not someone from his entourage who knew exactly what was going to happen? AWFUL. This is sad, because now I can't sing along to that terrible song of his without feeling guilty. I mean, I felt guilty before because the song is bad. Now this just makes it dirty.

  2. Anonymous says Finally!!!! I was wondering when they'd actually do something about it. Thats so aweful what that girl had to go through, poor child. Literally a Child!!! 15yrs. old!! When I saw the video footage my mouth just dropped in disbelief, such a poor career move for Akon too. Dropped contract with Verizon and touring with Gwen. Sooo relieved that's over with already.
