On Wednesday, Melissa Etheridge will receive the ASCAP Founders Award during the performing rights group's 24th annual Pop Music Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Al Gore used Etheridge's "I Need to Wake Up" for his environmental documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". The end result was an Oscar(Best Original Song for a Motion Picture).Gore has also courted Etheridge for his "Live Earth, or Save Our Selves: A Campaign for a Climate in Crisis".
