Despite the fact that he was found guilty of molesting two young girls, Gary Glitter apparently still feels there is room for him in the music industry and is considering a comeback, reports NME.
Currently serving time in a Vietnamese jail, the 64 year old glam rocker will be released this August and has plans on recording a new album when he gets out.
"I have an incomplete album that I want to finish. I have been thinking about the plan during my days in jail," he said.
According to Sky News Glitter said:
Glitter also revealed he probably won't stay in Vietnam after he serves his sentence and is looking for a residence elsewhere - although not the UK, as he will be on the country's sex offender register here, after his 1999 conviction and jailing for downloading child pornography.
"I am trying to contact my lawyer and friends to see where the best place to live is," he said.
In 1999, Glitter was convicted for downloading 4,000 child pornography pictures in the UK, and was afterwards listed as a sex offender. His reputation was greatly tarnished, and though he continued releasing new music, Glitter's popularity declined sharply. He was permanently evicted from Cambodia in 2002 for suspected child sexual abuse offenses. He afterwards relocated to Vũng Tàu in Vietnam, and in March 2005 applied for permanent resident status. Later that year, he was arrested by Vietnamese authorities while trying to leave the country, and he was tried and convicted of child sexual abuse charges in 2005-06. Glitter's release date is August 2008. In April 2007 his lawyer announced that he was appealing for a second time against the length of his sentence (having had it cut by 3 months in the first appeal but the appeal was rejected.

wow. that was creepy and uncalled for.
I think this might be one of the most messed up posted I've done. Or not messed up as much as just straight up creepy and gross! Look at that man! (barf)
This is definitely extremely weird (that picture of his album cover doesn't help either).
If Michael Jackson (who is regarded as one of the best musicians ever) wasnt able to revive his career after child molestation allegations, I don't think this Gary Glitter guy has much of a shot.
I say keep him in Vietnam
It's hard out there for a (creepy) pimp, lol!
nice august!
hehe, thanks Kev, I couldn't resist . . . .
