Jello Biafra Turns 50

Jello Biafra celebrated his 50th birthday (and the 30th anniversary of DEAD KENNEDYS) by debuting his new band, AXIS OF EVILDOERS, via a pair of performances on June 16-17 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California.

Joining Biafra in the new group are Ralph Spight (VICTIMS FAMILY,FREAK ACCIDENT, HELLWORMS) on guitar, Billy Gould (FAITH NO MORE, BRUJERIA, Kool Arrow Records) on bass, and Jon Weiss (SHARKBAIT, HORSEY, TONNAGE) on drums.

There is something funny about this I can't quite put my finger on. At least I was only assaulted by a 49 year old.
Holy crap, time flies!! I saw the DKs in 1984, and it was an amazing show. I can't imagine The Courtship of Eddie's father kid being able to fill Jello's shoes....but in fairness, I can't criticize because I have not seen THAT line up in concert.
This is unsettling news. On the other hand, I'm delighted that he's alive and kicking!
